Last weekend saw fireworks and celebrations for Abingdon after a very busy weekend for all, including two matches for the Men's 1s.
Looking ahead to this weekend there is plenty of action down at Tilsley Park, kicking off at 10:30am for the Men's 2s against South Berks. Then a double fixture vs Leighton Buzzard for both Men's and Ladies 3s at 1:30pm.
Good luck to all players this upcoming weekend, do support our club where possible by signing up to play for Saturday matches or Sunday mixed games (this Sunday, 3pm at Hawks), spectating other matches, and signing up to umpire if you're able to.
Men’s 1s 3-1 vs Berkhamsted & Hemel Hempstead
Ladies 1s 2-3 vs Reading

L1s put in a gutsy performance against a well-organised Reading L5s.
Illness, injury and work demands in the squad meant a totally new defensive line-up and despite valiant efforts in defence, some excellent play through the mids and two strong goals from our forwards,
Reading pulled ahead to lead 3-2. An Abingdon goal hit as the final whistle blew came a tantalising moment too late to give us a draw. Although a little disappointing, the result serves as excellent motivation to go out with fighting spirit next week.

Men's 2s 4-0 vs Leighton Buzzard
Ladies 2s 3-1 vs Wootton Wanderers
After last weeks success, we came back to Tilsley full of positivity. Fantastic hockey was played between the team showing our trust in each other.
We started the game well, going 1-0 up in the first half with a fab goal from Catherine. Came back fighting in the second half, going 2-0 up with a short corner routine finishing in Meg scoring.
Wootton gave a good fight and scored a flick, but this didn’t stop us and Jen gave us our final goal. Another great win for the 2s and we go on with our positivity and fun attitude to hockey!

Men's 3s 6-0 vs Bicester

I don't think we've ever enjoyed a rainy day in Bicester as much as we did today.
A strong performance from start to finish. Lee D scored not only his first goal for the club, but his first hat-trick! The other 3 goals coming from John B, Tom F and Lewis S.
Bicester were determined to get something from the game and we're well organised, but ultimately they didn't have enough firepower to ruin our day out. A brilliant save from Stu towards the end of the match protected our clean sheet.
PotM: hat-trick hero Lee Daglish
Goal Scorers: John Boumphrey, Tom Fleming, Lewis Singleton
Ladies 3s 0-3 vs Oxford
Men's 4s 1-7 vs Buckingham
Despite the 4s taking an early lead with a well taken P flick, a very strong Buckingham team soon took control of the match and began to dominate.
Despite a strong performance and playing good hockey the 4s just couldn't find a way back into the game.
