Hello!
Welcome to Abingdon Hockey Club, where we welcome anyone who wants to enjoy hockey and be part of a club. Here at Abingdon we encourage everyone to play to their best ability whilst also encouraging them to participate in all aspects of club life – especially the social side!
About Us: Abingdon Hockey Club is a small, vibrant and friendly club with bags of spirit! We have three men’s teams, two ladies’ teams and one mixed team: so whether you are looking for weekly competitive hockey on a saturday or a relaxed, friendly run around on a sunday then we have a team for you! We have players of all levels of exprience and of all ages.
Find Us: our home games are played and training sessions held at Tilsley Park in Abingdon, which is conveniently located just off the A34. We therefore have players not only from Abingdon but from a host of surrounding villages, as well as Didcot, Wantage, Grove, Wheatley and Oxford.
Training: Training for both men and women is held at Tilsley Park on Tuesday evenings from 8pm until 9.30pm. Being a small club we are lucky enough to be able to hold training for everyone on the same night which is fantastic as it means everyone in the club gets the chance to get to know other club members better, and gives everyone that great feeling of belonging to a club.
The Social Side: Here at Abingdon we know that, for a lot of people, being part of a club is not just about turning up on a saturday to play, it is about socialising with your team mates, having fun and attending great social events! It is what gives us that great club and team spirit! We are a friendly bunch and encourage everyone to get involved in the variety of social events on offer throughout the season; from pub and curry nights, to firework displays and bowling, to end of season extravaganzas!
